  • OVERVIEW | In order to facilitate the students of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Class and economic backward class categories to study in major cities of Gujarat, Samaras Hostel Scheme has been launched by the State government
  • OBJECTIVE | Construction of Mega Samras Hostels in nine major cities to provide residential facilities for students of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Class and economic backward class
  • GEOGRAPHICAL FOOTPRINTS | Ahmedabad, Surat, Baroda, Bhavnagar, Anand Rajkot, kutch-bhuj, Jamnagar, Sabarkantha.
  • INTENDED BENEFICIARIES | About 3750 ST students
  • CAPACITY | Ahmedabad, Surat, Baroda, Rajkot and Bhavnagar hostel Capacity of 1000 boys and 1000 girls, Jamanagar Hostel capacity 500 boys and 500 girls, Anand, Kutch-bhuj and Sabarkantha hostel capacity 250 boys and 250 Girls.
  • BENEFITS UNDER THE SCHEME | Equipped with state-of-art facilities.
  • FINANCIAL PROVISION | Government sanctioned Rs. 1890.65 lakh for these hostels for current year’s budget.
  • KEY ACHIEVEMENTS | 9 Samaras hostels have been running, and providing lodging and boarding facilities to about 3750 students.
