| Scheme formulation | Formulate the schemes for the welfare and development of dispersed tribals including the Primitive Tribes and watch over their implementation |
| Atrocities | Monitoring and execution of anti-exploitative measures in addition to rehabilitative and ameliorative measures for economic and social development to ensure issue of concrete benefits |
| Research and Devt. | Co-ordinate tribal research, field studies and evaluation programs undertaken by the Tribal Research Centre, Gujarat Vidyapeeth, Ahmedabad, or any other organization; and also the promotion of tribal art and culture |
| Coordination | Perform co-coordinating functions in respect of all TSP matters and where necessary between Collectors, Project Administrators, District Development Officers and any other officers/agencies at the district, regional or State level |
